From 1st April 2018 the Ministry of Health is funding FREE Shingles vaccinations for all aged 65-80 years.
Around 1 in 3 people will get shingles in their lifetime and as you age, your risk of Shingles increases and the symptoms and after effects can be much more severe.
Shingles in caused by the same virus as Chickenpox and can cause a painful and unsightly blistering rash more often to the face or torso. Shingles vaccination is a single dose injection that reduces the risk of developing shingles and associated short and long-term effects.
