Rural Practice Nurses

We are very fortunate to have skilled, experienced Registered Practice Nurses working at our Health Centre. They provide nurse lead clinics as well as working alongside our GP's. We generally have 2 nurses on each day.

We have PRIME trained clinicians which enables us to provide first response emergency care.

Weekend on call

The after-hours phone directs your call to Ka Ora the after-hours triaging service.  They will connect you to the after-hours GP or PN if required. 
The on call clinicians operate from Hanmer Springs Medical Centre.

District Nurses

Hurunui District Nurses are employed by Amuri Health Care Ltd, they are based in four areas in the Hurunui District.
These areas are Rotherham, Cheviot, Waikari and Amberley and the District Nurses maintain very close links with the four Health Centres.
