Pertussis (Whooping Cough)
There have been 3 deaths nationwide from Pertussis (Whooping Cough).

As a practice ACHC recommends that pregnant mothers are immunised for this and can be from 16 weeks into your pregnancy.

It is also very important to ensure all childhood vaccinations are up to date. Children older than 7 years and not fully immunised can receive ‘Boostrix’ a vaccine given as part of the catchup programme.

This is also available to purchase for those that do not qualify for the funded vaccine.

Telephone consultations and face to face consultations are still available
Please phone 03 315 6328 for an appointment.
When phoning for an appointment, please tell the receptionist if you have any respiratory symptoms:
new or worsening cough
sore throat
shortness of breath sneezing and runny nose
loss of sense of smell or altered sense of taste, or a fever
headache
contact with person who may have been exposed to COVID

When you visit:

We politely request you still wear a mask if you display any resipratoy symptoms, this helps to keep the wider community safe.
You may still be asked to be seen via th Ambulance bay if there is any doubt on the type of infection you may have.

Continue to practice social distancing

Covid vaccinations are still available.
Please call the Health centre to arrange a day and time for your vaccine.
