World Hepatitis Day – Stick it to Hep C

The new campaign launched last week to raise awareness of Hepatitis C, an infection of the liver spread via blood-to-blood contact.

Many people don’t know they have Hep C because the symptoms aren’t always visible even though it can lead to serious liver disease.

The good news is that testing for Hep C is easy – just a finger prick – and it can be cured in just eight weeks for most people, once it's been identified. The treatment is fully subsidised, so it’s also free with a prescription.

Find out if you’re at risk and choose where you’d like to get tested by visiting www.stickittohepc.co.nz
