Welcome


Through wind and rain, we welcome Dr Victor Buckwalter to the Amuri Community Health Centre and to the community.

Victor and his wife Christina arrived from the US into NZ a couple of weeks ago, they completed MIQ in Rotorua then travelled to Wellington to complete orientation with the NZ Medical Council. It has been a 6-month process to get Victor into NZ, but we are pleased we persevered with the process.

Victor commenced working with us today and will be here regularly on a Monday to Thursday.

We have a great team here now with Dr Sarah Ballam working 2 – 3 days per week as well.

Before you visit:


Telephone consultations and face to face consultations are still available
Please phone 03 315 6328 for an appointment.
When phoning for an appointment, please tell the receptionist if you have any respiratory symptoms:
new or worsening cough
sore throat
shortness of breath sneezing and runny nose
loss of sense of smell or altered sense of taste, or a fever
headache
contact with person who may have been exposed to COVID

When you visit:

We politely request you still wear a mask if you display any resipratoy symptoms, this helps to keep the wider community safe.
You may still be asked to be seen via th Ambulance bay if there is any doubt on the type of infection you may have.

Continue to practice social distancing

Covid vaccinations are still available.
Please call the Health centre to arrange a day and time for your vaccine.
