Job Vacancy - District Nurse

Hurunui District Nursing seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Amuri district nursing team, working out of the Amuri Community Health Centre.

If you have 2 years or more nursing experience and would like to use your skills and knowledge with more autonomy, we have a position for you in our District Nurse team as an Amuri District Nurse.
This is a permanent part time position of 0.4 FTE but at times may also require additional hours over and above the 0.4 FTE inc weekends, depending on patient load and care requirements. Due to the variable hours and demand there needs to be some ability to handle flexibility.
District nursing is a multi-faceted role which is evolving quickly, and we need a compassionate, dynamic RN to join.
The position supports the acute flow of patients discharging from the HSS into the community setting and supports GP practice community patients. The DN position works in the community setting with patients receiving home intervention such as intravenous therapy, palliative care, wound care, compression bandaging, medication management, stoma care, incontinence care and respiratory care, home oxygen therapy.
We offer a comprehensive orientation for new staff. Community nurses have access to, and are encouraged in, advanced training and study days. The district nurse will have the support and back-up of the Amuri Health Centre GP’s.
If you have previous community nursing experience or a background in palliative care/medical/wound care we would like to hear from you. We would also be delighted to hear from nurses from other backgrounds, as we provide a solid orientation period.

Applications close on Wednesday 5th December 2018.
