Meningococcal Vaccines

Meningococcal vaccines are strongly recommended for all teenagers and young adults flatting or staying in hostel accommodation, whether at Boarding School or Halls of Residence.
Please phone the Health Centre to arrange an appointment or talk to the nurse for more information.
There are 2 vaccines available to cover the most common strains.
Bexero (Meningococcal B) available at a subsidised cost of $70 and Menactra or (Meningococcal ACWY) which is currently funded.

Before you visit:


Telephone consultations and face to face consultations are still available
Please phone 03 315 6328 for an appointment.
When phoning for an appointment, please tell the receptionist if you have any respiratory symptoms:
new or worsening cough
sore throat
shortness of breath sneezing and runny nose
loss of sense of smell or altered sense of taste, or a fever
headache
contact with person who may have been exposed to COVID

When you visit:

We politely request you still wear a mask if you display any resipratoy symptoms, this helps to keep the wider community safe.
You may still be asked to be seen via th Ambulance bay if there is any doubt on the type of infection you may have.

Continue to practice social distancing

Covid vaccinations are still available.
Please call the Health centre to arrange a day and time for your vaccine.
