Influenza A

There has been a national outbreak of Influenza A which has impacted heavily on GP clinics, St John and hospitals.

Patients are asked to adhere to the following advice:

Stay home if you are unwell; rest and fluids; hand hygiene; use good hygiene and cover coughs and sneezes.

If you are suffering with Flu-like symptoms, respiratory problems, coughs or fever, you must ring to be triaged by a nurse before you are seen, if you present without being triaged first, you will be turned away and asked to phone to speak with the nurse.

You must wear a mask if you are given an appointment and this is necessary for all patients including children.  Parents / carers attending the clinic with a patient who may have the illness must also wear a mask.

Good hygiene practise is also important to help control the spread of this viral illness.
